Lightwaves acted in a consultative role at the early stages of design for Tate Modern and has commissioned the lighting for every exhibition since, both in the temporary galleries and permanent displays. On behalf of Tate Modern, Lightwaves also oversaw the lighting design for the TM2 extension, and the relationship extends to Tate Britain and Tate Liverpool, having worked on numerous previous exhibitions.
